Understanding History Through Cartooning
Festivals epitomize the harmonious interplay of age-old traditions, symbolic rituals, and collective exuberance. In this spirit, the Festival of Joy was celebrated on 17th October 2025 for Pre-Nursery, Nursery, and Preparatory students as a holistic co-curricular event aimed at fostering intercultural awareness, creativity, and emotional intelligence among learners. The day began with a Special Assembly featuring prayer songs, a lively Ramayana enactment by Pre-Nursery, a Show and Tell on festivals by Nursery students, and a thoughtful role play by Preparatory children on themes like saying “No to Crackers” and helping others.

Engaging indoor and outdoor activities followed. Pre-Nursery children enjoyed games like Festival Matching and Basket Sort, learning about Diwali, Christmas, and Eid through play. Nursery students explored creativity through Paint Your Own Festival, Santa Hat Making, and a Parade of Cultures, celebrating global diversity. Preparatory students participated in Festival Corners, Rangoli Art with Shapes, Ravana Effigy Game, and Christmas Carol Freeze Dance, blending fun with cultural learning.
Follow-up activities such as Shape Your Festival and Festival Gallery allowed children to express their understanding through art and discussion, reinforcing the values of diversity and creativity.

Through an array of immersive modalities including experiential learning, dramatic enactments, artistic endeavours, and multisensory engagements, the students honed advanced intellectual capabilities along with essential social and emotional competencies. The event not only celebrated pluralism but also fostered a deep sense of intercultural empathy, mutual respect, and collective harmony.
