Republic Day Celebrations

Delhi Public School, Pune celebrated the 77th Republic Day on 26 January 2026 with great pride, and enthusiasm. The school came alive with patriotic fervour from 19 January onwards. This week-long celebration reflected the spirit of the nation. Patriotic songs played during homeroom periods while classrooms and activity boards came alive with colourful cut-outs, images of national leaders, national symbols, and depictions of India’s progress, showcasing creativity and teamwork.  On 26 January, the day began with a vibrant Prabhat Pheri, where students of Classes VI to XII marched with discipline, carrying placards promoting Zero Waste and environmental responsibility. Patriotic chants, lezim and dance performances, and beautifully decorated buses added colour and enthusiasm to the procession which inspired awe and admiration among the onlookers.

The celebrations continued on campus with a Special Assembly that included the National Song, unfurling of the National Flag, the National Anthem, and a disciplined march past by the Student Council. Students delivered insightful speeches highlighting the significance of the Indian Constitution and paid tribute to Dr B. R. Ambedkar and freedom fighters. The Principal, Ms Amita Singh, addressed the gathering, encouraging students to practise patriotism through honesty, discipline, respect for diversity, and care for the environment. A powerful tableau portraying India’s freedom struggle and the framing of the Constitution left the audience deeply moved, followed by a spirited patriotic song by teachers.

The Junior Wing also actively participated through age-appropriate activities on 27 January 2026. From learning about national symbols, creating tricolour crafts and badges, writing reflections, organising a community heroes’ parade, and engaging in patriotic charades, to presenting the skit “Hamara Samvidhaan, Hamaari Pehchaan”, students from Pre-Nursery to Class V expressed national pride with enthusiasm. The celebrations concluded on an inspiring note, reinforcing unity and responsible citizenship.
