Fire Safety Demonstration

With the aim of empowering children to make safe choices and develop a clear understanding of potential risks, a comprehensive fire safety demonstration was conducted on 16 February 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. by the Fire Brigade team from Kondhwa Fire Station for the students of the junior wing. The firefighters arrived in a fire engine and were warmly welcomed by the Principal Mrs. Amita Singh who acknowledged their unwavering courage and the noble service they render to society.

The Fire Officer began by interacting with students and staff, asking questions about fire drills and emergency responses. Students were introduced to the working of a fire engine, including its water storage system, pumping mechanism, and pressure control. The team demonstrated different types of hoses and nozzles—such as jet, fog, spray, branch pipe, and monitor nozzles—and explained their specific uses in firefighting operations. A range of rescue and safety equipment was showcased, including fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, smoke masks, breathing apparatus with oxygen cylinders, protective suits, helmets, and fire jackets. Students also learned about various lifesaving tools used during emergencies. The demonstration highlighted the diverse responsibilities of firefighters extending beyond extinguishing fires to disaster response and emergency assistance.

The session was highly interactive. They actively involved teachers by guiding them on how to extinguish a small fire using a wet cloth, and they also engaged students by helping them wear life jackets and floaters to demonstrate basic water rescue procedures. The programme effectively strengthened awareness, built confidence, and reinforced practical safety skills, leaving students better prepared to respond calmly and responsibly during emergencies.
