Academic Assessment is an important part of teaching and learning process. Hence, the Assessment pattern has been developed after conducting research of various international standards together with a study of the NCERT guidelines. The emphasis is laid on maximizing learning in the classroom, inducing a spirit to use the knowledge in real life situations. The entire session is divided into two semesters. To evaluate students’ academic performance, periodic tests are conducted every Semester. Apart from this, Pre-Board Exams are conducted for classes X and XII.

Diligent and continual efforts are made by the school to inculcate lateral thinking, spirit of enquiry and quest for novel solutions in our students. It is a matter of immense pride that DPS  Pune is among the 237 schools selected across the country by Atal Innovation Mission under the NITI Aayog to establish Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATL). It fulfils the mission of cultivating one million children in India as neoteric innovators. The children are also engaged in Robotics and STEM oriented projects.

The Pre-Primary teaching broadly uses the Play Way Method to teach the curriculum. Through this method, teachers facilitate students to understand basic concepts of language and numbers thus giving them the first lessons in Life Skills. The Play Way Method is further reinforced by hands-on activities conducted in and out of the classroom. Field Trips, Nature Walks, Celebrations of Festivals, Topic-based Projects, Science Experiments form a regular and integral part of learning-through-doing.

The Annual Robofest 2017 was held at DPS Pune to connect students, mentors, and schools of the city to successful and engaging technology-based programs (LEGO NXT). The goal was to foster the technical and interpersonal skills necessary for students to succeed in the 21st Century. 9 teams from different schools of the city participated in the Robofest 2017.
