A GLIMPSE OF INDIAN CULTURE

 

"Dancers aren't made of their technique, but their passion."
 
Kathak dancer Ms Sharvari Jamenis dances with the same passion. She performs constantly producing a glow that lights not only herself but audience after audience. A Kathak Recital was performed by Ms. Sharvari Jamenis in the DPS premises. The ambience was dazzling by her presence.She reinforced the idea that Classical tradition needs to be nurtured. It takes patience & dedication to make a classical artiste.She has won awards and honorofics like Sur Sringar Sansad 7 Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar.The artiste conducted an interactive session and spoke on the revival of classical art forms and effectively captured the audience.She spoke on the same ethos that DPS Pune believes in, thus enjoying the support and interest exhibited by the students.
The Lecture Demonstration by renowned folk singer Shri Ram Kailasji was organised under the aegis of Spic -Macay in DPS Pune.
The speciality of the performance was the ‘Biraha ‘style of music that denotes separation & sorrow – a satirical form of rendition performed by the renowned troupe of Ram Kailasji. The members of the troupe hail from village ‘Lahimsa ‘near Allahabad in the interiors of Uttar Pradesh.

The program concluded with words of appreciation from the Principal , Mrs Neelam Chakrabarty .
